TAG GmbH is one of Austria’s leading transmission system operators (TSOs), responsible for transporting natural gas and supporting the reliable energy supply of Austria and neighboring countries. The company operates and maintains the Trans Austria Gasleitung (TAG) pipeline system, a major European interconnector with approximately 1,140 km of high‑pressure pipelines capable of bidirectional gas flow between Austria, Italy, and surrounding regions. With more than 50 years of experience, TAG GmbH plays a central role in enabling the transition to renewable energy forms such as biogas and hydrogen. Headquartered in Vienna, the company is jointly owned by SNAM S.p.A. and Gas Connect Austria GmbH and operates under ITO certification issued by Energie‑Control Austria.
